
Prof. Yoav Kohn, MD, MHA is Director of the Donald Cohen Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, Jerusalem Mental Health Center (JMHC), Eitanim Psychiatric Hospital. He holds this position since 2009. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Medicine, where he served as Chair of the Department (2013-2017). He is Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Helsinki Committee (IRB) at the Jerusalem Mental Health Center. Prof. Kohn earned his MD at Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Medicine and trained as an Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Hadassah Medical Center. He also has an MHA degree from the School of Public Health, Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Medicine, Jerusalem
Since early in his career Prof. Kohn has been involved in research in biological psychiatry focusing on psychiatric genetics. He has authored 65 publications and has an H index of 21. Prof. Kohn trained in research at Yale University Child Study Center and Genetics Department. He was invited to spend a sabbatical as a visiting Associate Professor at the Psychiatry Department of Stanford University. He was Chair of the Israel Society for Biological Psychiatry and a Deputy Editor for the Israel Journal of Psychiatry. He is on the ethics committee of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and served as co-Chair and member of the program committee for meetings of the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics. He is a reviewer for many international journals, as well as for national foundations and universities for research grants, graduate students and promotions.
